Little Known Solution to Worry and Anxiety

Apr 30, 2024

Gratitude is the antidote to worry and anxiety. If only everyone knew this simple hack, much fewer people would struggle with such a debilitating challenge.

We must look no further than the word of God to get this wisdom. We are given this phenomenal advice in Philippians 4: 6-7…

“Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

Now, here’s the simple breakdown of this passage:

1. Don’t Stress, Be Grateful:

First off, we must stop stressing about everything. It doesn’t help the situation, others, or us. Instead, focus on what’s good in your life - what you have to be thankful for. Big stuff, small stuff, all stuff.  Just find things to be thankful for.

2. Talk to God:

When you’re feeling anxious, talk it out with God. Tell Him what’s bothering you, but don’t forget to begin by making time to first give Him thanks for all that you have to be grateful for.

It’s like having a chat with a close friend who’s always there for you, loves you more than you could ever know, has perfect insight and understanding, an incredibly good plan for your life, and the power and ability to do anything He deems is in alignment with the wonderful plan he has for you life (Jer 29:11).

3. Peace Like No Other:

Science is now beginning to understand the following phenomenon.  As we focus on the things that we have to be thankful for, being mindful of our blessings, we rewire neural passageways in our brain which generates hope. It’s a gift from God, and it’s pretty incredible.

He knew how he created us when we gave us this great advice to be thankful.

So, what’s the bottom line?

Gratitude isn’t just about feeling warm and fuzzy—it’s a game-changer and the antidote to worry. It takes worry and anxiety and kicks them to the curb.

Life’s gonna throw curveballs, no doubt about it. But with gratitude as our weapon of choice, as we offer prayers to our creator, we can face whatever comes our way with strength and grace.

So, why not implement the solution today? What can you focus on that you are grateful for?

Let gratitude be your secret weapon against worry and anxiety. It take intentionality, but you might just be amazed at the difference it makes in your life.
